Mid-Michigan Driveway Stabbing Ends With One Man Dead

One Mid-Michigan man is dead and another is behind bars after a deadly and horrific confrontation.

What Happened on Ashwood Drive West in Saginaw Township?

Police say it happened Thursday evening in Saginaw Township in the Lawndale Estate subdivision based on reporting from ABC 12. Officers were called to Ashwood Drive West just after 6 p.m. for reports of a fight between two men. Before police were able to arrive, dispatchers informed responding officers that one of the men had been stabbed multiple times.

When officers arrived at the scene, they found 33-year-old Brandon Michael Armstrong lying unconscious in a driveway with several stab wounds to his torso. Emergency responders immediately began life-saving efforts, but despite their attempts, Armstrong died at the scene.

Saginaw Area Stabbing Victim Identified by Investigators

Investigators say the suspect drove to the location, got out of his vehicle, and became involved in a physical altercation with Armstrong. At some point during the fight, the suspect produced a knife, and Armstrong was stabbed multiple times.

The suspect fled the area, but police say surveillance video helped investigators quickly identify him. He was later located and taken into custody without incident and is currently being held on an open murder charge.

Saginaw Township Stabbing Investigation Remains Active

Authorities have not released the suspect's name pending arraignment. Police are asking anyone who may have witnessed the incident or has additional information to come forward as the investigation continues.
