Grand Blanc Township Unveils New Fire Station and DPW Headquarters
If you've driven around Grand Blanc Township lately, you may have noticed some big changes taking shape. Now those changes are officially complete.
Why Grand Blanc Township Needed a New Fire Station
The township held a ribbon-cutting ceremony this week to celebrate its brand-new Department of Public Works headquarters and Fire Station No. 1. While a ribbon cutting might not sound all that exciting on the surface, this is actually a significant investment for the entire community.

For years, the fire department operated out of a facility connected to the township's main offices. As the township has grown, that setup created space limitations and operational challenges. The new station was designed to solve those problems while giving firefighters the room and resources they need to do their jobs more effectively.
New Facility Designed With Firefighter Safety in Mind
One of the biggest improvements is the focus on firefighter safety according to a report from ABC 12. The building includes dedicated decontamination areas, equipment storage space, training facilities, and room for daily operations. Those features help reduce firefighters' exposure to contaminants while making the station more functional overall.

Fire Chief Jamie Jent said the new facility represents a promise to protect and serve the residents of Grand Blanc Township.

After the ceremony, residents had the chance to tour the building, meet firefighters and public works employees, and get a firsthand look at how the new facilities will help support both public safety and township infrastructure.
