Let's be honest, driving anywhere can be dangerous. Between distracted drivers, deer darting across the road, road construction, and people driving like idiots, there's always something to watch out for.

But the next 100 days are different. The stretch between Memorial Day and Labor Day is widely known as the "100 Deadliest Days" on the road, and for good reason.

Think about it. School is out, which means more inexperienced drivers are on the road. Add in road trips, vacations, festivals, concerts, lake weekends, and Michigan's never-ending road construction projects, and you've got a recipe for chaos.

According to Fox 2 Detroit,  Michigan State Police are already seeing too many drivers doing what they call the "big three" mistakes: speeding, driving distracted, and following too closely. Those three things alone have contributed to hundreds of deaths and thousands of injuries across the state this year.

I would have to imagine distracted driving is the biggest problem of them all. The number of people driving around with their faces buried in their phones is honestly ridiculous. Look around at the next red light. You'll see it everywhere.
