A Linden woman tragically died in a train accident in Fenton over the weekend.

According to CBS News Detroit, Cynthia Prince,56, was hit by a train on Friday, August 21, 2026, at approximately 9:35 PM. MLive reports that Prince was a pedestrian and was not in a vehicle at the time of the accident.

The accident happened on the railroad tracks near Poplar Street. The Fenton Police Department was assisted at the scene by the Genesee County Sheriff's Office, Flint Township Police Department, and Fenton Fire Department.

Police are continuing to investigate what happened and are asking anyone who may have information that could help with the investigation to contact authorities at (810) 629-5311. Even the smallest detail could potentially help investigators as they work to piece together exactly what happened.
