I swear, I’m always playing dodge the deer when I drive through my neighborhood. They’re everywhere. People talk about watching for deer up north, but around here, you barely have to leave your driveway.

Michigan State Police says October through December is one of the busiest stretches for deer crashes. Dawn and dusk are times to be especially alert.

And if you see one deer cross, don’t assume you’re in the clear. More could be right behind it. There's always another one not far behind.

If you can’t avoid hitting one, hit the brakes and stay in your lane. Swerving could put you into another car or a tree.

Here’s how all 17 Genesee County townships stack up. Take a look and see where yours landed.
