Detroit Hot Sauce Festival 2026 – Even Darren McCarty Will Be There

This upcoming Michigan festival is H-O-T-T-O-G-O. Brace yourself for the first-ever Detroit Hot Sauce Festival at the Masonic Temple.

That's right, if you are a lover of all things hot sauce, the festival presented by 2 Dogs Hot Sauce and the Masonic Temple is your time to shine.

The two-day event will feature eating contests, hot sauce vendors, live music, family-friendly activities, and plenty of spicy fun. According to The Detroit Metro Times, former Detroit Red Wings player Darren McCarty will also be making an appearance.

When is the Detroit Hot Sauce Festival?

The festival happens the first weekend in August,

• Saturday, August 1st, 2026: 10:00 AM to 7:00 PM
• Sunday, August 2nd, 2026: 10:00 AM to 5:00 PM

Saturday will feature the League of Fire World Title Chile Eating Belt Match between Stephen 'Fiery Red' Curgan and Hungarian champion Jakab 'Jannonius' Janos. My mouth is burning just thinking about competing in a match like this.

Tickets start at $10. Kids 10 and under get in free. VIP upgrades are also an option.
